For instance, if you will apply for the e-visa, you can only stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days. With the visa on arrival, you get to choose between the 30-day or 60-day period. So what happens if you decide to extend your stay in the country? In this case, you can request for a visa extension with the help of a sponsorship company.
Getting your visa extended should be easy with the help of a sponsorship company. These companies are International travel agencies that can assist foreign travelers in Vietnam with their visa-related concerns. They will process the visa extension on your behalf and all you need to do is submit the needed requirements.
First of all, you need to decide on the type of visa that you want for your extended stay in Vietnam. There are different kinds of Vietnam visa and each has a different validity period. Here are the different kinds of Vietnam visas.
If your existing Vietnam visa is about to expire and you plan on staying longer, you should apply for the Vietnam Visa Extension.
There are many reasons why a foreigner in Vietnam will decide to extend his or her stay. Perhaps, they wanted to continue living in Vietnam or maybe they have found a job. Others were affected by the travel restrictions that the Vietnam government has imposed due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Whatever your reasons are, the first thing you need to do is identify the type of visa that you wish to avail in order to extend your stay. Each type of visa has different requirements that you need to accomplish.
If you have found a job in Vietnam, then you need to get a working visa. For this visa, you’re required to submit your passport. Aside from your passport, you must also submit legal documents from your sponsoring company. Other requirements that you need to submit are work permit exemption certification, N5 Form (application for a visa extension), certificate of temporary residence, and letter of introduction that will be addressed to the Vietnam Immigration Dept. in Hanoi.
If you have decided to establish a business in Vietnam, then you need to have a business visa so you can continue staying in the country. For this, you need to submit your passport, certificate of temporary residence, legal documents coming from the sponsoring company, and the N5 form. You are also required to attach a letter of introduction addressed to the Immigration Department.
If you wanted to live in Vietnam as an investor, then you should get an investor visa. Aside from submitting your passport, you also need to submit an Investment Registration Certificate. The certificate must indicate the amount of your capital investment. You also need to submit a Certificate of Temporary Residence, N5 form, and the letter of introduction.
If you are visiting a relative and would like to extend your stay, the visitor visa is what you need. For this, you are required to show proof of the relationship between you and your sponsor. Of course, you also need to submit your passport. Other requirements that you need to submit are the certificate of temporary residence, sponsor’s identity card, and the N5 form.
Tourists holding a tourist visa can also extend their stay in Vietnam for certain reasons. They need to submit the N5 form, which is the application for visa extension, and their passport.
If there are no issues with your visa extension request, you should be able to get the result in 4 – 6 business days. But if you needed urgent results for your visa extension request, you can inform your sponsorship company about this. They can have your request expedited but you need to pay an extra fee. Nevertheless, paying for rush processing is worth it for those whose visa has long been overdue. The amount that you’ll pay is still cheaper than the penalty that you will pay for overstaying.
