According to the Note exchanged between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan on visa exemption for citizens holding diplomatic passports and official passports. Exchange of notes on March 8, 2005, effective from May 1, 2005:
Note: Authorities in Vietnam have unilaterally granted Japanese citizens a 45-day visa exemption, allowing them to enter the country without a visa beforehand.
The governments of Kazakhstan and Vietnam have recently approved an agreement that exempts citizens of both countries from visa requirements. The agreement was issued on June 13, 2023, and came into immediate effect.
