At present, Russian citizens are free for 15 days of Vietnam Visa . If you plan to stay in Vietnam less than 15 days, you do not need to apply Vietnam Visa. In case, you want to stay more than 15 days, you must apply Vietnam Visa in advance.
(Note: According to Vietnam immigration law, to be eligible for visa exemption, your passport must have at least six months validity. If you wish to enter Vietnam at least two consecutive times without visa, the next entry must be at least 30 days after the previous exit. If you enter Vietnam the first time with visa, then the next entry without visa can be less than 30 days after your previous exit).
All Russian passport holders (who want to stay in Vietnam for more than 15 days and does not meet the Visa exemption law from Vietnam Government) are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. Russian can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either Russia or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.

The process is as follows:
It usually takes 1-2 business days to process your visa application and an approval letter will be sent to your email. You take the letter and passport photos to enter Vietnam by air.
Note: Visa on arrival works for air travel only. And it is available in 4 international airports in Vietnam, including Noi Bai airport (Ha Noi city), Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh City city), Cam Ranh airport (Nha Trang city) and Da Nang airport (Da Nang city).
Apply the visa at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia or at any embassy or consulate of Vietnam near your place. The following documents are required for each visa application:
Original Passport (with at least 01 month validity from the date of leaving Vietnam)
One completed application form for a Vietnam visa (Contact the embassy or consulate for this form)
One passport sized photo of 4×6 cm (attached to the application)
Visa fees (Cash, Money order or Bank cheque) payable to “The Embassy of Vietnam”
Prepaid return envelope, if you plan to receive your visa by mail

Russians are eligible for Vietnam e-visa (30 days, single entry)
All Taiwanese passport holders are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. Taiwanese can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either Taiwan or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.
All Swiss passport holders are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. Swiss can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either Switzerland or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.
All South African passport holders are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. South African can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either South Africa or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.
All Polish passport holders are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. Polish can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either Poland or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.
All Dutch passport holders are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. Dutch can apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy (in either Netherlands or a third country), or online for a visa on arrival.
