Who Can Enter Vietnam In This Covid 19 Season?

Applying for a Business Visa to Vietnam

First of all, you need to have a sponsor company that will apply for the visa on your behalf. Here are the procedures.

• Step 1 – Your sponsor company must send a letter to the Local People’s Committee of the City where you plan to visit. For instance, if you are going to Ho Chi Minh City, the sponsor company should send a letter to the Local People’s Committee of HCMC to ask permission for your entry. When your visit is approved, they will issue an entry permit.
• Step 2 – The sponsor company can now apply for a business visa from the Vietnam Immigration Department. They should submit the entry permit, along with the other requirements, such as the visa application form, your passport copy, etc. It will take about a week for Vietnam Immigration to process your visa.
• Step 3 – Once your business visa is approved, it will be sent to your sponsor company. The sponsor company will forward this to you and you can now book your flight to Vietnam.

Restrictions and Quarantine When Entering Vietnam During Covid 19

Even though Vietnam is now allowing certain types of travelers to enter the country, there are several restrictions that travelers must follow. This is to ensure that the Covid-19 virus will not spread into the country. So aside from getting a business visa, Korean visitors who plan on entering Vietnam this Covid-19 season must follow the following procedures.

Before Entry

• Before flying to Vietnam, all foreign visitors are required to register with a quarantine facility where they will spend 14 days for isolation. There are several hotels in Vietnam that the Vietnamese government has designated as quarantine facilities for foreign visitors. They must inform the Local People’s Committee of their choice of hotel and provide details of their specific work schedule in Vietnam. Aside from booking the hotel for 14 days, they must also have a pre-booked vehicle that will pick them up from the airport.
• All foreign visitors are also required to submit a negative Covid-19 certificate taken 3 to 5 days before entry into the country. The Covid-19 test must be performed at a certified laboratory in South Korea.
• Foreign visitors must also have insurance that can cover the cost of the Covid-19 treatment. If they do not have insurance, their sponsor company must agree to shoulder the cost of medical expenses if they test positive.

Upon Entry

Upon arrival at the Vietnam airport, all foreign visitors will be checked for symptoms of Covid-19. Before starting their quarantine, they will be tested for the Covid-19. If the result is positive, they will immediately be taken to a medical facility for treatment. But if the result is negative, they can proceed to the hotel for their quarantine.

At the Quarantine Facility

While on quarantine, all foreign visitors are required to strictly follow the measures imposed for epidemic prevention. They must avoid contact with the community for the entire 14 days. If they notice any symptom, they must immediately inform the health authorities.

On their sixth day of isolation, they will be tested for the Covid-19 test. Again, if the result is positive, they will be brought to a medical facility. If not, they can continue with their quarantine. Once they completed the 14-day isolation, they will be tested again. They will only be released for quarantine if their result is negative again.
