Vietnam, Myanmar sign visa exemption agreement

A visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders signed by the Governments of Vietnam and Myanmar takes effect on October 26, 2013.

Under the new rules, citizens of the two countries who hold ordinary passports valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival will not require visas for stays up to 14 days. Those who want to stay more than 14 days still have to apply for a visa.

Vietnam’s ordinary passport holders can now enter all nine other ASEAN member countries without a visa.
