Vietnam Grants 90-Day Validity to E-Visas Starting August 15, 2023

The Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) recently granted approval to extend visitor e-visas’ validity for foreigners entering Vietnam from 30 to 90 days and allow multiple entries. This update, which will take effect on August 15, 2023, is expected to make it easier for foreign visitors to explore the country and learn more about its culture and heritage.

The new rule will apply to citizens of 80 countries and territories currently eligible for the e-visa scheme, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, and more. The e-visa allows foreign travelers to stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days. Depending on their visit’s purpose, travelers can apply for a single entry or multiple entries. The extended period of 90 days will provide foreign travelers more flexibility and convenience when planning their trips to Vietnam. Visitors will have more time to explore the country’s rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty. The new rule also opens up opportunities for business visitors to conduct meetings and other activities that require a longer stay in the country.

The Vietnamese government also hopes that the extended validity period for e-visas will help boost tourism in the country. This could create jobs and generate more revenue for the economy.

The update to the e-visa scheme is a positive step towards making it easier for foreigners to visit Vietnam. It is expected to boost the country’s tourism industry and open opportunities for international visitors. The new rule will take effect on August 15, 2023, so plan your trip to Vietnam now and experience the country’s rich culture and heritage.
