Citizens of the Marshall Islands are required to present a visa when entering Vietnam. Thankfully, getting a visa to Vietnam these days has never been so easy. They have offered an option for foreign visitors to apply for their visa online. This scheme is only available to citizens of more than 80 countries and the Marshall Islands are among them.
Sometimes called as the electronic visa, the Vietnam e-visa is an online version of the regular visa that the Vietnam government would grant to foreign visitors. This is a single-entry visa that will let visitors from the Marshall Islands stay in the country for a month or 30 days. Read on to find out more about this new visa.
The Vietnam e-visa is the fastest way of obtaining a visa to Vietnam nowadays. Citizens of Marshall Islands who plan on visiting Vietnam soon should consider getting this visa in order not to go through the hassles of applying from an embassy.
This visa option will require you to complete an online application form. Everything is done online. After you are done with the form, you’ll have to submit some requirements, such as a photo and a scanned copy of your passport. You’ll be asked to pay for the visa fee online as well and you can pay with your Visa, MasterCard or PayPal.
Overall, the Vietnam e-visa is the most convenient visa to apply for your trip to Vietnam. But this visa also comes with limitations. For one, it’s only a single entry visa, which means it can only be used once to enter the country. Secondly, the visa will only allow you to stay for 30 days in the country. So it will not be applicable to those who are staying in the country for the long term.
The Vietnam e-visa for citizens of the Marshall Islands can be used for both business and tourism purposes. Once the 30-day validity period is over, visitors can request an extension but it must be done within Vietnam and through a third-party agency that can sponsor your stay in the country.
Compared to other types of visas to Vietnam, the Vietnam e-visa is the easiest to apply. In fact, you don’t need to bring anything on your trip to the country. All you need to carry with you is the e-visa copy and your passport. This is one of the advantages of getting the e-visa.
The only thing you need to do is to go online and fill out the application form from their website. You will also be asked to upload photos (Photo Guide) and the digital copy of your passport’s biographical page. After this, you will be taken to the next page where you will pay for the $25 e-visa fee. So be prepared with your card, both debit card, and credit card. You can also pay with your PayPal.
But remember that if for some reason, your visa application is denied, the processing fee can no longer be refunded back to you. After you submit the application form online, you’ll get a registration code. Make sure you take note of this code because this is what you’ll key in later on to download a copy of your e-visa.
After about 3 -5 business days, you’ll receive an email regarding the status of your e-visa. If it’s approved, you’ll be asked to click on the link in the email where you can download the visa. Save a soft copy of the visa on your computer and print one copy to bring to your trip.
Citizens of the Marshall Islands have three options to apply for a visa to Vietnam. Aside from the e-visa, you also qualify for the Vietnam Visa on Arrival. Of course, there’s also the usual process of applying for a visa from a Vietnam embassy.
But why should you choose the e-visa? First, let’s take a look at the advantages of getting this visa. This visa can be easily applied online, which is its biggest advantage. You don’t need to queue or schedule an appointment at the embassy. Furthermore, this type of e-visa can be used at various border points in Vietnam and not only at the airport.
As for its disadvantage, the e-visa is only valid for a single entry. Furthermore, you can only stay in the country for 30 days with this type of visa. So if you need to enter Vietnam several times and need to stay in the country for longer than 30 days, then this visa will not benefit you. In this case, you can either apply for the standard visa or choose the Vietnam Visa on Arrival.
