Starting in February 2017, the government of Vietnam has officially implemented the generation of Vietnam e-visa, also known as the electronic visa. Initially, this visa option was available only to citizens of 41 countries. But since the e-visa program has been successful, they have decided to make it available to more than 80 countries. These include citizens of Georgia.
So if you’re from Georgia and you are planning to go to Vietnam for a holiday, you should apply for the Vietnam e-visa. It’s the easiest way to get a visa since it eliminates the need to go to an embassy for the application.
The Vietnam e-visa, also known as an Electronic visa, is the latest type of visa that the government of Vietnam issues to foreign visitors. It’s basically an online version of the regular visa, which is why it can only be obtained online. Once the visa is approved, it will be sent to your email. You just need to print the visa and use it to enter Vietnam.
The biggest benefit of using the Vietnam e-visa for citizens of Georgia is that you can apply for it anywhere you are in the world! You just need to go online and access the official website for the Vietnam e-visa application. Fill out the online application form, make a payment with your card, and wait for three business days!Â
The steps involved in applying for the Vietnam e-visa for citizens of Georgia are pretty straightforward. Here’s how:
The e-visa copy will be sent as a file attachment to your email. All you need to do is download the file to your computer or mobile phone. Print a copy to bring to your trip. If possible, print two copies of your visa so you have a spare just in case you will lose the other copy.
Georgian citizens who have the Vietnam e-visa can use it to enter the country once only since it is a single-entry visa. This visa will allow them to stay in Vietnam for 30 days. The Vietnam e-visa can be used for both tourism and business purposes.
It’s important that you get out of the country before your visa e-visa expires. Otherwise, you will be slapped with hefty penalty fees. Also, you could be at risk of getting banned from entering the country again.
You may be able to extend your e-visa validity but you have to do it while you’re still in Vietnam. There are agencies and organizations that will be willing to sponsor your stay in the country so you better check with them. Also, this comes with a fee.
If you knew ahead of time that you would be staying in the country for more than 30 days, you might as well choose the Visa on Arrival option. With this visa, you can stay in the country for up to 90 days and you can enter several times since it is a multiple entry visa.
The standard processing time for the Vietnam e-visa is 3 business days. But for an additional fee, you can choose to have it expedited. There is a rush processing option that will take only 24 hours to be processed. If you need the visa very urgently, then you can choose the super rush processing, which will take about 8 hours only.
To avoid any issues, it is best to apply for your visa at least a week before your trip to Vietnam. This is to give ample time for your visa to be processed and to avoid paying additional fees.
You’ll need to accomplish an application form online when applying for the Vietnam e-visa. Make sure you have the following requirements:
It is very important that you carefully review the information you entered on your e-visa application. If some of the details are incorrect, you could be denied entry to the country. So before you submit, take time to double-check your e-visa application form.
