If you’re from Latvia and are thinking of holidaying in Vietnam, one of the things you need to prepare for your trip is your visa. As a Latvian citizen, you are required to present a visa before you can be allowed to enter the country. But don’t worry, because applying for a visa to Vietnam is now so easy. In fact, all you need to do is to go online and you can get an E-visa from there.
The e-visa concept might be something new to you, but several other countries around the world are already implementing this visa. This is basically an electronic version of the standard visa. And instead of applying for your visa personally from an embassy, this visa will only need you to open the Internet. Thus, Vietnam e-visa is the easiest and most convenient way to enter the country for your holiday.
Once approved, the e-visa will grant you a single entry to Vietnam. This visa will remain valid for 30 days or one month. You must get out of Vietnam before the 30-day period is over. It’s also possible to extend this visa, but you’ll have to look for an agency that can re-apply for a visa on your behalf.
The process of applying for the Vietnam e-visa for citizens of Latvia is so easy. You just need to access the website for the Vietnam e-visa application and fill out the form. Provide your name, birthdate, address, and other important details from your passport. You will also be asked to provide details about your trip such as your intended date of entry and exit from Vietnam.
After you have completed the application form and if you are certain that the information you have provided is correct, then proceed to the payment page. This is where you’ll pay for the processing fee using your debit card or credit card. You can also pay with PayPal if you have.
It will normally take 3 -5 business days for the visa to be processed, although there are certain situations that could delay the processing. Therefore, it’s important to apply for your e-visa as early as possible. You can also pay an additional fee for the rush processing of your visa. For rush processing, you can expect your visa in as fast as 24 hours!
After your e-visa is processed, it will be sent to you in a PDF format via email. Download the file and print some copies to bring on your trip. Although you’re only required to present one copy at the immigration, it’s highly recommended that you print two copies. That way, you will have a spare just in case you will lose your copy.
When you arrive at the airport in Vietnam, you may proceed directly to passport control. Give your passport and e-visa copy and wait for the officer to stamp your passport.
You will need to submit the same requirements as you would when applying for the standard visa. But the difference is that you need to have a scanned copy of your passport that you need to upload. Also, you’ll be required to provide a digital photo of yourself (Photo Guide). It should have a white background and must be in a jpeg format.
Since the application is done online, the only means to pay for the processing fee is with a credit card or debit card. So prepare your card when applying for the visa online. More importantly, you need to have a valid email address for your visa application. This is where the visa will be sent once it is approved.
Remember that the information you will provide during the application of your visa will be the basis of your visa’s approval. It will be screened using the country’s high-tech security database and will identify any security threat. Therefore, you need to provide accurate information.
Answer all the questions to the best of your knowledge in order not to get rejected. Review the information before you proceed because data inaccuracies could further delay your visa processing. And if the passport details in your visa will not match with the details of your Latvian passport, you could be denied entry to the country. So to avoid any issues, don’t be in such a hurry when you fill out your e-visa application form. Review and double-check the information before you submit the form.
If you realize that some information you entered is incorrect and you’ve already submitted the form, send them an email immediately. That way, they can do the necessary corrections for your e-visa.
