If you love the idea of living in Hanoi City for several months, then the first step is to get your visa extended. Remember, Vietnam visas have a validity period. Depending on the type of visa that you have, it’s usually valid only for 30 days or 60 days. So if you want to stay longer, then you have to get a visa extension. Holding an expired visa is illegal. Aside from being penalized, you could get deported and that will make it hard for you to go back to Vietnam.
Thankfully, extended your Vietnamese visa in Hanoi City is easy. With a visa extension, there’s no longer a need for you to apply for a new visa. This process will extend the validity period of your existing visa.
As the name suggests, visa extension refers to the process of extending your Vietnamese visa. If your visa extension is approved, the validity date of your visa will be extended. 👉 Once your visa extension application is approved, the Vietnam Immigration Office will call you to claim your passport. Check your passport and you will find in there a new stamp that indicates the new validity of your visa. Make sure you exit the country before the visa expires. You can extend the visa again, but only up to a maximum of two times.
